Disney is 47 Days Away!

We are in full waiting mode! We have our ADR's booked and we have a countdown calendar on the fridge. I started a list of outfits I need to get done for Disney and have finished 2...1 wasn't planned though! I made an Alice in Wonderland dress and a princess dress. The princess dress was actually a test run on a new pattern by fabernmix...the Vida pattern. I really liked it and will do more using that pattern! Work has kept me busy and when I get home I don't really feel like sewing... I feel like sleeping or lounging. Maybe today I can get some work done.

Going Back to Disney!

We did it! We finally decided that we couldn't go a year without visiting the World! Yah! So, Sept. 20-27 we are going to Disney, staying at Port Orleans French Quarter...our favorite resort. We will be there for free dining, homeschool days and for Sara Beth's birthday! I already have ideas of the clothing I need to make! A definite birthday outfit for her! Something with Mickey and Minnie in a birthday celebration! So exciting!

We are still working on school as working full time these past 2 months has really put us behind. That will be ending soon and we plan on catching up by end of July and having August and some of Sept off. Sara Beth is finishing up 1st grade and Ashley is finishing up 9th. Hopefully, next year we will be more on schedule and have more time for homeschool group activities!

Busy!

Wow, how time flies. We have been very busy here. I recenlty accepted another part time job in the tourism industry. So I now have 2 part time jobs and i am still homeschooling and sewing. Never a dull moment. I took the kids to Colonial Willamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown last week and they had a great time. We stayed with my MIL while dh stayed home and went to work. No days off for him yet. :( We missed him and it was the first time I have been away from him for so many days, and i hated it.

The weather is starting to change, and I am ready for start planting veggies. I want to start a whole new veggie garden this year and I am going to invest in new dirt for the garden. I plan to build it up so it will grow better. Once it stops raining I hope to get it all started!

Dressing without help!

Wow! It has been forever since I posted here! Sara Beth is now 5 and way past potty training. She is 1st grade and reading. We homeschool and she loves to learn. Lately, I have thought of some things that we just baby her too much about. One big thing is getting dressed. It just seemed easier to dress her. Well, being that she is almost 5 1/2 I decided it was time to cut the umbilical cord...at least in this area. So, I showed her a few tricks and within days she can fully undress and dress on her own. Now, I realize this means she can pick out her own outfits. Today's outfit wasn't too bad...she went with a cute colorful pair of Gymboree leggins and a striped Children's Place sweater. I wouldn't have put them together, but it didn't look horrible and she wasn't going anywhere! Tonight she decided on a summer gown for bed...I hope she stays warm! Tomorrow it will be an adventure!

My brother is getting married.

So, my younger brother...okay they are all younger...is getting married. I believe it will be a big wedding. The other 2 had been married through the justice o the peace and are now divorced.

Anyhoo, his wedding is in less than 2 months. I haven't received an invitation to the wedding or the rehearsal dinner. In fact, I am the only sibling on both sides not in the wedding! My little one isn't the flower girl and I am the only one with children of flower girl age. My mom hasn't even been told what type of dress to wear.

I have emailed him twice and no response yet. I would call, but I don't have long distance. This is frustrating. He told me he really wants me to be there...well, I need to know where and when! Would be nice. Our family is going to Disney two weeks before the wedding. Our little one's birthday is a week before the wedding. There is alot going on that month.

I would assume I am going to the rehearsal dinner since I am a sibling. Ugghhh...I am just so frustrated!

2 Dry days in a Row!

WE have gone two whole days in a row keeping dry! She really has got this down. Both days she has done ALL her business in a potty. We bought her a playhouse and she thinks it is her "prize" for being a big girl! HE he! I hope this is going to stay this well. She has even stayed dry overnight and at nap time. I pray this is it.

A semi-successful day!

She did much better yesterday. She wore a pull-up over her panties at her friends house and got to me too late, but went in the potty after that. She did pee on the carpet again, but otherwise went in the potty every other time! She is getting better but still has a hard time knowing when it is coming. Usually I just make her sit on the potty when I think she has to go.

Today she has been awesome. No accidents at all yet. We went to the park for a while and she stayed dry and went to the potty when we got home! She even ate a sandwich, which is another first for her. She said big girls eat sandwiches! I know we are no where near the home stretch, but it definitely feels good to have some successes!

Toilet training is hard!

Another day with no luck at all. In fact, she hasn't peed in the potty since this weekend. Today she wore just panties a few times, but went into a pull-up when we went out and went to the park and peed at those times. This evening, I was out watering flowers while daddy stayed inside with her and yep, she peed all over the carpet. He is yelling, she is balling, and I am cleaning....not fair. Her new thing is to sit on the potty for 10 min and then as soon as you put the panties or pull-ups on, she pees. This is stressful and frustrating. I bought her a little crown to wear while she sits on her "thrown", but she just plays with it. I guess tomorrow will be another day of wet panties and a crying mommy. I am so tempted to throw in the towel and wait another month, but I am worried that she is getting older and more strong-willed! Ugghhh....

Will she ever be toliet trained?

I feel like I have been trying to get her to use the potty forever. She will be 3 in just about 2 months. Today, I put real panties on her and those plastic like covers. Within 2 minutes she was wet. So, I got another pair of panties and another cover up. Made her sit on the potty every 30 minutes or so. She stayed dry for 3 hours! I was excited. I thought...this is going to work... NOPE! 2 minutes after her last unsuccessful attempt, she wet herself and told me. I don't know what to do. I put a regular diaper on her. Said some things I probably shouldn't have and cried for a little while. I tried to talk to her seriously...has anyone tried this with a 2 year old? She kept smiling and laughing and playing and I got more mad and frustrated. So, what is the secret in potty training? How is it that there are no kids in diapers in kindergarten? I think mine will go to the prom in a diaper. :(
